OISL believes that an effective growth policy must also take into account the fulfillment of the basic needs of the masses, especially of those living in rural areas. Thus OISL endeavors to improve the quality of life of communities living in the area it operates. To achieve this, OISL deploys its resources to the extent it can reasonably afford, to improve the infrastructure, education, health, water, sanitation, environment, etc in the area it operates in.

OISL lays special emphasis on ensuring community welfare and protection of environment. Since inception, OISL management through several initiatives has maintained a congenial and harmonious relationship with the surrounding, society and effective measures were taken to improve the condition of poor and deprived people.
